## Configuration Setup

![Create Configuration for Roles](/assets/pd-reviewing-roles-01.gif)

1. [Create Your Configuration](/user-guide/configurations/#add-configuration).
2. Select your desired Export Destination by clicking on the [Folder Icon](/user-guide/general/#export-destination).
3. Switch to `Manual` [Export Mode](/user-guide/general/#export-mode) so [Roles](/user-guide/roles) stays open while you review.
4. Return to Configurations to [Update Active Configuration](/user-guide/configurations/#update-active-configuration).

!!!info Info
Disabled roles are omitted from Role Inventory and from Markers, Keywords, Titles & Generators, Video & Audio Effects, Speed Change Effects, and Summary. `Transitions`, `Non-Standard Effects & Templates`, and `Media Summary` are unchanged. Role enable and disable choices are saved with the active Configuration when you update it.

1. Drag and drop your `.fcpxml` or `.fcpxmld` file onto [Roles](/user-guide/roles), or drag a timeline / compound clip from Final Cut Pro.
2. Review the `Video` and `Audio` tabs. Enable or disable roles as needed — or use `Enable All` / `Disable All` for the selected tab.
3. Switch to [Extract](/user-guide/extract) and press `Start Export`.
4. **Production Data** will create an Excel workbook (`.xlsx`) that includes only the enabled roles on those sheets.
